Installation Driving Home Theater Adoption
MINNEAPOLIS -- More than Half of Consumers More Likely to Buy with Professional Installation, Best Buy Makes Installation More Accessible. Approximately 55 percent of Americans would be more likely to purchase a high-definition television (HDTV) if they knew it could be professionally installed, according to the December 2006 Best Buy Omnitel Survey released today. The Consumer Electronics Association estimates that digital television sales for 2006 were over $20.5 billion, up more than 30 percent from 2005. But owning a HDTV doesnt ensure a true home theater experience. In fact, according to Forrester Research, only 50 percent of HDTV households even subscribe to high-definition programming. In an effort to help customers get the most from their home theater purchases, consumer electronics retailer Best Buy has rolled out a handful of additions to its Magnolia Home Theater Installation Service that can help customers get set up just in time for the Big Game.
